NYC Orders on Hold Until Sanity Returns

Knives And More is going to take a wait and see approach when it comes to shipping knives to New York City. As we’ve said before, your DA is not the brightest Crayon in the box. Although assisted knives are legal in all 50 states – according to DA Vance, they are illegal in the city of New York. He has already extorted over 1 million dollars from big name companies and we are a very small company and would like to avoid any hassle.

Vance has already said that he is going to knowingly purchase knives that he considers illegal and have them shipped to him in New York and then try to extort money from the business that shipped them. We hope that there is a knife store out there with enough money to fight the legal battle all the way to the Supreme Court and once and for all strike down the stupid laws that are in place about knives. Greasers do not exist anymore. The second amendment says “arms,” not guns. “The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Ladies and gentleman of New York City, your DA is taking away YOUR rights. Even a regular folding pocket knife, a tool to most people, is illegal according to Vance. He says people can be killed with one. Baseball bats can and are also used to kill people, but we don’t ban the sport. Only an idiot would do something like that.

You can call District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. at his office and express your disgust with his ridiculous grandstanding. The number is 212-335-9000.

All military, police and government employees in New York City may continue to order anything on the menu if you provide a copy of your ID. Mr. Vance says he will pose as a regular citizen and purchase automatic knives and that is against our policy. Therefore Mr. Vance is banned from Knives And More.

Knives And More is UpFront

We added one of those cool UpFront boxes going around. We have a bigger one on our sidebox and we have a small link to it at the top of each page. When you click on it it shows how long we’ve been in business, our phone number, email, links to our policies and social network pages. It’s pretty neat.

Return Policy Change Coming Soon

Currently our return policy is that we don’t have one. Unless an item arrives damaged that was delivered by USPS. A customer has 3 days to notify us via email, text or voicemail if their item arrived damaged.  Damaged items received from UPS can be settled with UPS because insurance is included.

Most recently I had a customer return an item with $2 asking me to fix it and ship it back to him. He said his son used it once and it broke. It was 45 days after he received it. Obviously this is not covered under our return policy.

Most of the knives we have now are covered under lifetime manufacturer warranties and those can be shipped to the manufacturer for repair or replacement after following their instructions. However, for generic knives we will implement a clearer return/exchange policy with us. I will start this on Saturday and it should be finished Monday. There will be a restocking fee involved.

Man Stabbed With His Own Knife

From the Seymour Herald:

Sevier County Detectives are currently investigating a stabbing incident that occurred on Monday at approximately 1:30 p.m. in Kodak. Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals said that the Sevier Co. Sheriff’s Office responded to a stabbing at 1006 Alex Bales Rd.

When officers and ambulance personnel arrived at the scene they found Jesus Fernandez suffering from multiple stab wounds and lacerations. Upon investigation and questioning of witnesses, it was determined by detectives that Fernandez had been involved in a dispute with a female co-worker and that he had pulled a knife on her before she took it away from him and stabbed him several times.

Fernandez was transported to U.T. Hospital by ambulance to be treated for his injuries. The incident is still under investigation and charges are pending, awaiting review by the District Attorney General’s Office.

Banned from Amazon

After doing business with Amazon for over a year and having great metrics, we have been banned. They sent us an email explaining that we are banned because “we recently discovered that you have been conspiring with other sellers to raise prices on certain items.”

In March, I and several other stores became frustrated that one particular store was selling everything at a 50 cent markup. This store, as seen by its reviews on Amazon, was drop shipping its items – meaning they don’t carry them in stock – which is also against Amazon’s policy. I sent an email to a couple of other stores selling the same item to try and beat out the other store:

This ******* **** ***** is kicking our ass. I was hoping we could all just keep the same price and let the customers choose who they want to purchase from, but this guy just keeps going lower and lower and killing the profit margin. Should we just keep lowering the price along with his or should we go rock bottom for a little while and see if he quits selling them?

The other stores agreed with me and we were successful.

Amazon is very hypocritical in its email. They are the reason Victorinox no longer sells to distributors. Amazon complained to Victorinox that all of the knife dealers were selling the knives so cheap that Amazon couldn’t make a profit. They conspired to take everyone out of the loop and its working.

Sellers are supposedly not allowed to sell butterfly knives on Amazon so I attempted to purchase paid advertisements on their site that would link to my site for the knives and my account was suspended for that. However, for some reason Security Wizard gets to purchase ads for their butterfly knives, but not Knives And More. See who’s selling butterfly knives on Amazon

Shame on you Amazon.com – You hypocritical bastards. And thieving bastards might I add with your 16-20% commission.

Buyer’s price: $45.00
Amazon commission: -$8.24
Shipping credit: $4.99
Your earnings: $41.75

Also, last year I had to sign a statement saying I would not sell butterfly knives or pepper spray on Amazon. To paraphrase Amazon, if it is illegal in any part of the country, it cannot be sold at all. But now, everyone is selling them and they’re allowing it, but when I tried to I got suspended. And now I’m banned entirely. What the hell?

Increased Price for Classic Silver Butterfly Knife

Most distributors are out of stock on the Classic Silver Butterfly Knife and the only one we could find with them has raised the price so we had to raise our prices 50 cents on these. They are currently $7.49 each. They have been ordered and should be in stock this Wednesday.
